PREFACE
Rigzin Jigme Lingpa (1729–1798) was a highly accomplished master and scholar of the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. He also revealed hidden treasure teachings (gTer ma), and his terma cycle, the Longchen Nyingtik (kLong chen snying thig), remains one of the most widely practiced traditions today.
Jigme Lingpa's writings include his renowned "Treasury of Precious Qualities," along with its extensive auto-commentary; detailed commentaries on the cycles of Vajra Kilaya and Lama Gongdu; an autobiography; numerous shorter commentaries; poems; works of spiritual advice; and more. After his passing, his writings and the Longchen Nyingtik terma cycle were initially published in Derge, Eastern Tibet, in nine volumes. Subsequently, another nine-volume edition was published in Lhasa. In the early twentieth century, a fourteen-volume edition was compiled by the disciples of Adzom Gyalse, Gyurme Dorje (A 'dzom rgyal sras 'gyur med rdo rje), and published at Adzom Chogar.
This edition is based on the combined digital transcriptions of both the Derge and Adzom editions and follows the structure of the Adzom edition. During the editing process, numerous other editions of several key texts were consulted to ensure the most accurate readings.
The digitization was completed at Shechen Tennyi Dargyeling, Nepal. Khenpo Shedrup and Lama Sherab Gyaltsen of Shri Gautam Buddha Vihara edited the collection in consultation with the esteemed scholars Dakpo Tulku Rinpoche and Shechen Khenpo Yeshe Gyaltsen Rinpoche. The formatting and final proofreading were completed by Shechen Lopon Karma and his team in Paro, Bhutan.
We hope this edition, prepared in fulfillment of the wishes of Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche, will serve to preserve and spread the lineage and writings of Jigme Lingpa and the Longchen Nyingtik.
