Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche was a towering figure, both figurative and literally. He was the last of the major Khyentse tulkus to have been raised and educated in old Tibet and was highly instrumental in the continuation of many of the Tibetan Buddhist teachings and traditions among the Tibetan diaspora communities on the southern slopes of the Himalayas the buttress the Tibetan plateau, including the establishment of a new branch of Shechen Monastery in Nepal, that continues to function as a proxy for the illustrious Nyingma monastic institution in eastern Tibet.
